Requirements

- Minimum 8 10 years of experience as a Risk Professional or similar
- Experience in public and private markets with a focus on investment risk
- Experience with risk management systems (Bloomberg, Barra, FactSet, or similar)
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills

Job Brief
- We are actively searching for a Head of Risk to join our dynamic Group in Abu Dhabi.
- This role would be responsible for coordinating and executing risk and governance by developing, enhancing, and effectively implementing enterprise wide risk management policy and framework.
Investment Risk & Portfolio Analytics
- Monitor, analyse and report on portfolio risk across the HoldCo and its subsidiaries, spanning market, credit, liquidity, leverage and currency exposures.
- Lead portfolio analytics to assess performance on an ongoing basis, generating actionable insights that inform investment and divestment decisions.
- Support CIO initiatives on Strategic Asset Allocation, introducing quantitative approaches that improve portfolio performance.
- Develop and embed quantitative frameworks that enhance risk adjusted decision making across the investment lifecycle.
- Conduct independent risk assessments on prospective and existing private equity, private credit and real assets transactions.
- Analyse group cash flow and liquidity forecasts, ensuring adherence to all standard operating procedures.
Enterprise Risk Management
- Maintain a comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework for the Group, embedding a proactive risk culture across all subsidiaries.
- Facilitate the determination of the Group's risk appetite and risk tolerance levels for all critical risks.
- Identify, prioritise and quantify risks across the Group, developing and maintaining Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and an operational risk registry.
- Monitor mitigation action plans and risk tolerance levels, reporting to the CEO for onward reporting to the Audit & Risk Committee and the Board.
- Provide independent and objective challenge on business plans, new initiatives and strategic projects, validating key decision making assumptions against the Group's risk appetite.
Strategic Partnership & Governance
- Partner with the CEO, CFO and CIO on strategic initiatives including new product development, technology driven risk tools and the design of internal risk dashboards with measurable KPIs.
- Integrate risk management into strategy development by identifying and prioritising strategic and project level risks throughout the planning and execution cycle.
- Maintain a current Group risk profile to ensure executive management have clear visibility of risk posture at all times.
- Build risk awareness across the organisation through training, guidance and ongoing engagement with teams at all levels.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
- Has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, but preferably a quantitative subject.
- A professional qualification is considered desirable (i.e., FRM/ACCA/CPA/CIA/CA/CMA).
- Minimum of 8 10 years of experience working as a Risk Professional or similar responsibilities.
- Risk management systems experience (Bloomberg, Barra, FactSet, or similar) is beneficial.
- Experience in public and private markets with a focus on investment risk.
- Experience with dealing with Investment Committee and Audit Committee levels.
- Dynamic and proactive and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, competing deadlines.
- Ability to remain up to date with industry and regulatory changes and professional standards.
- Able to integrate technical knowledge with analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Has excellent communication and client service skills to manage multiple stakeholders across the HoldCo.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply judgment to provide efficient and effective solution.
