Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule and direct the work of the pharmacy department staff to meet hospital objectives
- Ensure leadership and guidance to all pharmacy staff
- Participate in recruitment process by updating staffing plan and reviewing credentials
- Establish, implement and maintain continuing professional development program
- Monitor and evaluate quality and appropriateness of services through quality assurance mechanisms
- Monitor staff performance and develop annual performance evaluations
- Assist in preparation of budget reports
- Chair departmental meetings and document minutes
- Maintain compliance oversight for medication preparation and dispensing, including controlled drugs
- Ensure emergency medications are consistently available, controlled and secure
- Submit monthly report to Director of Ancillary Service
Requirements
- B.S. Pharmacy as basic requirement
- Minimum 10 years of progressive pharmacy experience in a large health care organization
- At least 5 years in senior leadership or management roles
- Current valid license to practice in Saudi Arabia
- Registration in Saudi Commission for Health Specialties
- Competent knowledge of MOH and SFDA rules and regulations
- Fluency in Arabic and English (both written and spoken)
- Master, Pharm.D is preferred
- Master in Hospital Administration or Management is preferred

Summary
- Responsible for the organization, direction, planning of Pharmacy Department program as per hospital policy and procedures to maintain optimal professional practices of all Pharmacy Staff. Also to provide excellent access, information, education for care to all inpatients and outpatients. Administer
Functional Responsibilities
- Ensures through his actions that a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding is given to every patient.
- Ensures that leadership and guidance to all Pharmacy staff is provided.
- Plan, schedule and direct the work of the department’s staff to meet the hospital objectives.
- Recommend criteria for selecting the department’s professional staff.
- Participate in the recruitment process by updating staffing plan and reviewing credentials.
- Provide orientation and training for all staff.
- Establish, implement and maintain continuing professional development program.
- Assure regular and systematic monitoring and evaluation of quality and appropriateness of services.
- Monitor and maintain staff performance, developing annual performance evaluations.
- Recommend space, medical technology, equipment, staffing, and other resources.
- Assist in preparation of any required budget reports.
- Chair all departmental meetings.
Job Specifications
- B.S. Pharmacy as basic requirement.
- Master, Pharm.D is preferred.
- Master in Hospital Administration or in Management is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive pharmacy experience in a large health care organization, at least 5 years in senior leadership or management roles.
- Current valid license to practice in Saudi Arabia.
