Role Overview
A global media and entertainment organisation is appointing a Vice President, Originals to lead premium original programming across Arabic and Turkish markets.
The role reports to the Chief Entertainment Content Officer and covers scripted and unscripted content from concept through launch.
What You'll Be Doing
- Define and execute the Originals content strategy across Arabic and Turkish programming.
- Lead development, commissioning and production of a diverse slate of scripted and unscripted content.
- Build relationships with production companies, studios, writers, directors and creative talent regionally and internationally.
- Identify and negotiate strategic co-production partnerships.
- Evaluate project proposals and guide investment decisions based on creative quality, audience demand and commercial viability.
- Partner with Programming, Creative, Commercial, Operations, Legal, HR and Finance to deliver and launch original productions.
- Own production budgets, financial performance and the overall investment strategy.
- Present content recommendations, production updates and strategic plans to executive leadership.
- Inspire, mentor and develop a high-performing Originals team across multiple territories.
About You
- Established executive within the premium television, film or streaming industry with strong creative and commercial expertise.
- 15+ years of experience in premium entertainment, production or streaming.
- At least 10 years leading scripted long-form content development or production for a studio, broadcaster or OTT platform.
- Proven track record commissioning or producing successful scripted and unscripted content.
- Deep knowledge of the Arabic content landscape; Turkish market expertise is a significant advantage.
- Strong relationships with production companies, studios, creators, writers, directors and on-screen talent.
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar production budgets, commercial negotiations and complex contracts.
- Excellent understanding of audience insights, content investment strategy and subscriber growth.
- Fluency in English and Arabic; conversational Turkish is highly desirable.
