A **Gypsum Carpente**r specializes in installing, assembling, and repairing gypsum board (drywall) structures such as walls, ceilings, and partitions in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
This role requires precision, craftsmanship, and adherence to safety standards to deliver high-quality finishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and install gypsum boards according to design specifications and blueprints.
- Assemble and secure metal or wooden frames to walls, ceilings, and partitions before installing gypsum boards.
- Fill joints, nail indentations, and cracks with joint compound and smooth surfaces for finishing.
- Apply tape to cover joints between boards and ensure a seamless finish.
- Sand gypsum surfaces to achieve a smooth, even finish ready for painting or other final treatments.
- Install corner beads and control joints to prevent cracking.
- Repair and replace damaged gypsum boards as needed.
- Follow safety guidelines and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as electricians and plumbers, to ensure proper installation and integration of building systems.
