Role Overview

The Group Financial Controller works across multiple entities with diverse operations.

The role manages responsibilities through Finance Managers, Accountants, and support staff.

The position requires hands-on ownership of cash flow, group accounting, and management and statutory reporting.

Work Location

  • Work is performed in person.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead corporate accounting and build productive relationships with stakeholders across the Group.
  • Manage group cash flows and provide appropriate reports to the Group CFO.
  • Prepare and lodge compliant annual and quarterly consolidated accounts.
  • Coordinate with statutory auditors to finalize audits and issue financial statements on management deadlines.
  • Manage Zakat, VAT, withholding tax, and customs duty drawback obligations.
  • Design, implement, and review finance systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee transaction flows from source systems through interfaces to the general ledger.
  • Ensure ledgers are timely, accurate, complete, and suitable for internal and statutory reporting.
  • Prepare annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and three- to five-year financial projections.
  • Evaluate capital investments using IRR, NPV, and payback period analyses.
  • Identify, assess, and report group risks to the Group CFO.
  • Address internal audit queries and undertake related corporate finance activities.

Team and Employee Accountabilities

  • Build team and individual capability and contribute to the effectiveness of the Corporate Accounting team.
  • Support KPI meetings and provide training to department staff.
  • Support a safe working environment and apply sound time management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and organizational policies.

Functional Competencies

  • Management and statutory accounts preparation.
  • Consolidation of group accounts under IFRS guidelines.
  • Zakat, VAT, withholding tax, and customs duty compliance.
  • Planning, budgeting, financial analysis, and management information services.
  • Timely completion of statutory audits and tax filings.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant group financial controller experience in finance and accounting for large real estate, retail, or manufacturing groups in KSA or the Middle East.
  • Experience in planning, budgeting, rolling forecasts, and financial analysis.
  • CA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience with capital investment evaluations and group account consolidation.
  • Experience computing and filing Zakat, VAT, and withholding tax returns.
  • Big Four managerial-level auditing experience is preferred.
