Requirements

- Minimum 5 years of successful teaching experience at undergraduate level
- Expertise in industry standard tools including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Sketch, Figma, or similar
- Experience teaching Graphic Design units
- Demonstrated ability to develop rapport with diverse students

Position Summary
- The Design Lecturer delivers high quality teaching in design, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and technical proficiency.
- The role involves curriculum development, student assessment, and staying current with industry trends.
Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, workshops, seminars, demonstrations, and laboratory classes.
- Administer and assess examinations, quizzes, assignments, projects, and laboratory work.
- Provide constructive and timely feedback to support student learning.
- Maintain regular consultation hours and provide academic guidance and mentoring.
- Contribute to improvements in teaching quality and assessment practice.
- Oversee and support faculty in implementing high quality teaching practices.
- Provide academic advising and mentoring across the student lifecycle.
- Develop initiatives to improve student engagement, retention, and progression.
- Coordinate internships, industry placements, capstone projects, and experiential learning.
- Support strategies to strengthen student employability and career readiness.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with industry, community organizations, and academic institutions.
- Promote the program through outreach and engagement activities.
Qualifications and Skills
- Preference for a doctoral degree or nearing completion in Design or closely related field.
- Alternatively, a master's qualified senior industry practitioner with extensive experience.
- Minimum 5 years of successful teaching experience at undergraduate level.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Sketch, Figma, or similar.
- Experience teaching Graphic Design units.
- Demonstrated high quality experience in teaching and/or industry.
- Ability to develop rapport with diverse students.
- Experience working with a diverse range of students.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- This position is a full time on campus role.
