Responsibilities
- Develop and implement government affairs strategies, public policy frameworks, stakeholder engagement plans, and regulatory advocacy initiatives aligned with organizational objectives
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government ministries, regulatory authorities, public sector organizations, industry associations, chambers of commerce, and other key stakeholders
- Monitor legislative, regulatory, and public policy developments that may impact the organization, providing timely analysis and strategic recommendations
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Corporate Communications, Human Resources, Finance, Operations, Risk Management, and Executive Leadership to ensure alignment with government policies and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate government licensing, permits, approvals, registrations, certifications, and regulatory submissions to support business operations
- Represent the organization in meetings with government officials, regulatory agencies, industry working groups, and public policy forums
- Prepare policy briefs, regulatory analyses, position papers, consultation responses, executive reports, presentations, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement effectiveness, permit processing timelines, advocacy outcomes, government partnership initiatives, and policy implementation progress
- Support corporate social responsibility (CSR), sustainability, and public private partnership initiatives that strengthen relationships with government stakeholders and local communities
- Ensure all government interactions comply with applicable laws, ethical standards, anti bribery and anti corruption regulations, corporate governance policies, and organizational procedures
- Manage relationships with external legal advisors, public affairs consultants, trade associations, and regulatory experts to support government engagement activities
- Utilize stakeholder management platforms, CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, document management systems, and project management tools to track regulatory activities and generate actionable insights
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Law, Business Administration, International Relations, Public Policy, Communications, or a related field
- Master's degree or professional certifications in Public Policy, Government Relations, Regulatory Affairs, Corporate Governance, Compliance, or related disciplines are highly advantageous
- Minimum 5 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, regulatory affairs, corporate affairs, legal, compliance, or related roles
- At least 2 years of experience managing government relations, regulatory engagement, or public sector partnerships preferred
- Strong understanding of government processes, legislative and regulatory frameworks, public policy development, stakeholder engagement, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance
- Experience working with government entities, regulatory authorities, public institutions, industry associations, or multinational organizations is highly desirable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, CRM platforms, document management systems, stakeholder engagement tools, and project management software
- Strong communication, negotiation, relationship building, analytical, presentation, leadership, stakeholder management, and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple government affairs initiatives while balancing regulatory obligations, organizational priorities, confidentiality, and ethical standards
- Ability to work independently and effectively in remote and hybrid environments, with flexibility to attend government meetings, official events, and stakeholder engagements as required

The Role
