Schedule
This is a part-time seasonal position , with the greatest number of hours available during the Heritage Palms golf season, generally November through September .
The schedule will vary based on Golf Shop activity, member demand, tournaments, and special events. Availability to work weekends and holidays during the season is expected.
Specific hours and weekly schedules will be determined by the Head Golf Professional based on operational needs.

Description
Heritage Palms Golf Club is seeking a motivated, organized, and service-oriented individual to join our Golf Operations team as a Golf Shop Merchandiser.
The Golf Shop Merchandiser will assist with the daily operation of the Golf Shop while providing an exceptional retail experience for Heritage Palms members and their guests. This position will play an important role in maintaining an attractive and well-organized merchandise area, assisting with inventory management, receiving and displaying new merchandise, and helping members find products that meet their needs.
The successful candidate will have a friendly and outgoing personality, strong attention to detail, and an interest in golf and golf merchandise. The ability to work as part of a team and provide consistently high levels of customer service is essential.
This position reports directly to the Head Golf Professional and will work closely with the Golf Shop and Golf Operations teams.
About Heritage Palms Golf Club
Heritage Palms is a resident-owned, HOA community located in Indio, California, featuring an 18-hole Arthur Hills-designed golf course and a vibrant golf membership. The Golf Club provides a welcoming environment for residents, their guests, and outside guests throughout the golf season.
Heritage Palms places a strong emphasis on member service, professionalism, teamwork, and creating a positive experience for everyone who visits the Golf Shop and golf facility.
Our golf season generally runs from November through September, with the busiest period occurring during the winter and spring months.
Requirements
- Qualifications and Experience
- Previous retail, golf shop, or customer service experience preferred
- Golf industry or golf retail experience is a plus
- Knowledge of golf apparel, equipment, accessories, and merchandise preferred
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management is beneficial
- Previous experience working in a golf club or HOA community is preferred but not required
- Golf knowledge and an understanding of golf club etiquette and member expectations is preferred
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required by the golf schedule
- Essential Responsibilities
- Golf Shop Operations
- Provide friendly, professional, and knowledgeable service to members and guests
- Assist members with merchandise selections, sizing, special orders, and general Golf Shop needs
- Operate the Golf Shop point-of-sale system accurately
- Process retail sales, returns, exchanges, and other transactions in accordance with Club policies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional Golf Shop environment
- Assist with opening and closing procedures as assigned
- Maintain current knowledge of Golf Shop merchandise, pricing, promotions, and special offerings
- Merchandising
- Receive, unpack, tag, and organize incoming merchandise
- Create attractive and organized merchandise displays throughout the Golf Shop
- Regularly refresh displays to highlight new merchandise, seasonal products, and promotional items
- Maintain appropriate sizing and product presentation on the sales floor
- Assist with seasonal merchandise transitions
- Help ensure merchandise is properly stocked and readily available for members
- Assist with special events, tournaments, and 30th Anniversary merchandise initiatives
- Inventory
- Assist with receiving and checking merchandise shipments
- Verify merchandise quantities, styles, colors, and sizes against purchase orders and invoices
- Assist with inventory organization and maintaining accurate inventory records
- Help conduct periodic physical inventory counts
- Identify low-stock, damaged, or missing merchandise and communicate concerns to the Head Golf Professional
- Assist with special orders and vendor shipments as needed
- Member Service & Sales
- Develop positive relationships with members and provide personalized service
- Assist members in finding merchandise appropriate for their needs and preferences
- Promote new arrivals, seasonal merchandise, and Golf Shop specials
- Assist with tournament merchandise and member events
- Maintain a professional and welcoming atmosphere in the Golf Shop
- Handle member questions and concerns professionally and refer issues to the appropriate Golf Professional when necessary
- Team Responsibilities
- Work cooperatively with the Golf Professional staff and other Golf Operations team members
- Assist with general Golf Shop duties as assigned
- Support the Golf Operations team during tournaments, special events, and periods of increased activity
- Communicate effectively with the Head Golf Professional and team regarding merchandise, inventory, and member requests
- Maintain a positive, team-first attitude
