- Operate, monitor, and adjust automated irrigation systems to provide adequate water coverage across all golf course areas including greens, fairways, and landscaped zones.
- Conduct regular inspections of irrigation equipment and infrastructure to identify and resolve leaks, blockages, or malfunctioning components promptly.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on irrigation pumps, valves, sprinklers, controllers, and piping systems to ensure efficient water distribution.
- Collaborate with the golf course landscaping and maintenance teams to coordinate irrigation schedules based on turf and plant water requirements, weather conditions, and conservation goals.
- Maintain accurate records of irrigation activities, repairs, and system modifications to support maintenance planning and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in upgrading irrigation systems and implementing water saving technologies in alignment with the golf course's environmental sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines when handling irrigation equipment and during site operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in irrigation, horticulture, or related fields preferred.
- 2+ years of experience operating and maintaining irrigation systems in golf courses, landscaping, or agricultural environments.
- Strong knowledge of irrigation system components, including drip, spray, and rotor systems.
- Experience with automated irrigation controllers, timers, and sensors.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues related to irrigation equipment.
- Familiarity with water management best practices and environmental regulations.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks such as lifting, digging, and climbing.
- Attention to detail and proactive problem solving skills.

Role Overview
