Role Overview
Provide comprehensive primary medical services to registered patients, temporary residents, and individuals requiring immediate medical attention.
Deliver patient-centered care while supporting high-quality primary care services and the hospital's strategic objectives.
Clinical Care
- Conduct clinical assessments, establish diagnoses, provide treatment, and make referrals when necessary.
- Assess and diagnose a wide range of primary healthcare conditions.
- Order investigations, plan and provide treatment, consult specialists when admission may be needed, and observe urgent-care patients.
- Prescribe according to regulations, training, and professional registration.
- Undertake screening procedures and provide telephone consultations as required.
- Promote health through targeted health promotion activities and manage patients with long-term conditions.
Documentation and Coordination
- Maintain accurate, timely, and contemporaneous computerized patient records and healthcare documentation.
- Record investigation reasons, analyze results, and document required actions in the medical record.
- Explain complex clinical information appropriately to patients, families, carers, and team members.
- Coordinate referrals and ongoing support for patients, families, and carers.
