General Manager - International Moving Division

Role Overview

Workplace

• The role is remote and may be performed globally.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the International Moving Division.
• Oversee Sales, Operations, Pricing, Sales Support, and Customer Service functions.
• Recruit, train, coach, and manage remote employees and department leaders.
• Establish KPIs and performance standards across departments.
• Hold teams accountable for results and operational execution.
• Improve sales processes, close rates, workflows, and customer experience.
• Review pricing strategies and ensure quotes are accurate, competitive, and commercially sound.
• Coach sales representatives and improve overall sales performance.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions.
• Handle complex and escalated customer situations professionally.
• Develop, document, and improve SOPs across the division.
• Ensure coordination between sales, pricing, operations, and customer service.

Industry Experience

• Direct international moving experience is non-negotiable.
• Candidates must have significant professional experience in an international moving company or international household goods division.
• General freight, transportation, supply chain, or logistics experience without international moving experience is not sufficient.
• Knowledge of international household goods moving, international moving operations, ocean freight, and air freight is required.
• Knowledge of customs procedures and international shipping documentation is required.
• Knowledge of origin and destination services, international moving pricing and quoting, and shipment coordination is required.
• Knowledge of customer escalations and international moving industry standards and processes is required.

Leadership Qualifications

• Significant experience managing operations for an international moving company or major international moving division is required.
• Proven experience leading teams and developing employees is required.
• Experience overseeing Operations, Sales, Pricing, Sales Support, and Customer Service is required.
• Experience establishing KPIs and managing measurable performance expectations is required.
• Strong coaching, performance-management, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities are required.
• Experience with CRM, transportation-management, and workflow software is highly preferred.
• Experience working with the U.S. international moving market is a strong advantage.
