Role Overview
The General Manager is accountable for every aspect of store performance.
The role leads employees to deliver an exceptional customer experience and meet or exceed sales and profitability goals.
The General Manager creates a store culture that promotes employee engagement, growth, and development.
Functional Responsibilities
- Communicate Indigo’s mission, strategy, and business goals to the store team.
- Meet sales and profitability targets through customer experience improvements, expense control, inventory management, and shrink control.
- Advocate for customers and monitor local market trends and competitors.
- Champion technology that creates high-tech and high-touch customer solutions.
- Lead visual merchandising assessments and manage product flow and visual changeovers.
- Assess staffing levels, recruit and select employees, and own the store schedule.
- Open and close the store, manage the sales floor, and ensure health and safety compliance.
People Leadership
- Build strong teams by attracting and developing talent.
- Empower employees, provide constructive feedback, and set clear performance objectives.
