Job Purpose
- The General Foreman – Finishes is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and ensuring successful execution of all finishing works on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all finishing activities including plastering, screeding, rendering, painting, tiling, ceiling works, flooring, and joinery.
- Ensure works are performed as per approved drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
- Plan daily and weekly activities for finishing works and ensure proper sequencing to avoid delays.
- Monitor progress and ensure adherence to project timelines and milestones.
- Coordinate with civil, structural, MEP teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Resolve site conflicts and ensure smooth workflow between trades.
- Ensure all finishes meet specification requirements and approved samples/mock ups.
- Conduct internal inspections prior to consultant/client inspections.
- Identify defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented (snagging & de snagging).
- Assign tasks and manage daily labor activities, monitor workforce productivity.
- Ensure availability of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Enforce safety procedures and ensure proper PPE usage, compliance with HSE standards.
Snagging & Handover
- Lead snagging activities and defect rectification.
- Prepare finished areas for inspections and handover.
- Ensure quality finishes meet client expectations prior to final approval.
Reporting
- Maintain daily progress and site activity reports.
- Report delays, material shortages, or technical issues to management.
- Track completion of works against planned schedules.
