- Serve as the principal legal advisor to the Board, Group CEO, and executive leadership
- Lead the Group's legal strategy, governance, and corporate compliance framework
- Oversee complex commercial contracts, service agreements, joint ventures, M&A transactions, and strategic partnerships
- Advise on corporate structuring, cross border operations, and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions
- Manage litigation, disputes, arbitration, and external legal counsel
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, corporate governance standards, and risk management practices
- Support business expansion initiatives while balancing commercial objectives with legal and regulatory requirements
- Build and lead a high performing legal function, driving best practices and operational excellence
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB); Master's degree (LLM) or equivalent legal qualification preferred
- Proven experience as General Counsel or senior legal leader within an oil & gas group
- 15+ years of experience in corporate law, commercial contracting, M&A, governance, compliance, dispute resolution, and cross border legal matters
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders and provide commercially focused legal advice
- Experience managing legal teams across multiple business units and jurisdictions
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory
