Role Overview
OmniVAI is an AI-native creative studio and SaaS company based in the UAE.
The engineer will take working product prototypes to production scale and help build a desktop editing application for Mac and Windows.
The products include a generative platform covering image, video, editing, brand, UGC, and music video workflows.
What You Will Do
- Migrate an existing React and Supabase prototype into a production architecture on AWS.
- Set up environments, CI/CD, monitoring, and error handling.
- Build and own frontend, backend, database, and API features end-to-end.
- Integrate AI model APIs with asynchronous jobs, queues, retries, fallbacks, and cost tracking.
- Build and ship a desktop editing platform for Mac and Windows using Electron or Tauri.
- Implement local file handling, offline-capable behavior, auto-update, and code signing.
- Build credit and billing flows with Stripe and maintain accurate usage accounting.
- Re-architect prototype codebases for stable, scalable global production use.
Required Experience
- At least 4 years building and shipping full-stack web products.
- Strong React and TypeScript skills, plus Node.js or Python backend experience.
- Solid Postgres experience.
- Experience taking a codebase from prototype to production through refactoring.
- Experience with third-party APIs, webhooks, long-running jobs, and media pipelines.
- Git discipline and the ability to work without hand-holding.
Bonus Qualifications
- Supabase experience with RLS, edge functions, or storage is a big plus.
- Desktop application experience with Electron or Tauri is a bonus.
- Production experience with AI, LLM, or media-generation APIs is a bonus.
- AWS, Docker, and CI/CD experience is a bonus.
- FFmpeg, video or audio processing, or NLE and editing-tool experience is a bonus.
