Purpose of the Job

Revenue Recognition and Validation

• Lead timely and accurate revenue recognition in line with corporate policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
• Review accruals, billing accuracy, revenue assurance processes, and potential revenue leakages.
• Partner with operational leadership on shipment data, revenue estimates, and financial reporting inputs.
• Improve revenue control mechanisms to enhance accuracy and minimize commercial risks.

Cost and Margin Controlling

• Lead cost and profitability analysis across supplier invoices, outsourced services, agent expenses, and overhead allocations.
• Monitor margin performance across products, customers, trade lanes, and service offerings.
• Drive margin enhancement through cost optimization, productivity improvements, pricing support, and commercial reviews.
• Provide insights into cost drivers and profitability trends for business decisions.

Budgeting, Forecasting, and Reporting

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for Freight and Logistics operations.
• Develop and present monthly performance reports, dashboards, KPIs, and variance analysis.
• Identify financial risks, opportunities, and emerging trends and provide recommendations.
• Improve forecasting accuracy, financial visibility, and performance management processes.

Business Partnering

• Act as a Finance Business Partner to Freight, Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Commercial leadership teams.
• Support pricing strategies, customer tenders, network optimization, routing decisions, and supplier negotiations.
• Influence operational and commercial decisions through data-driven insights and profitability analysis.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align financial objectives with business growth initiatives.

Experience and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Logistics, or a related field is required.
• CMA, ACCA, or CPA certification is a plus.
• At least 8 years of finance experience, ideally in freight or logistics operations, is required.
• At least 3 years of experience in controlling or FP&A is required.
• Strong knowledge of freight and logistics costing models is required.
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and IFRS is required.
• Experience with cost allocation, route costing, and yield analysis is required.
• Advanced Excel, ERP systems such as SAP/CW, and BI tools proficiency is required.
