Forward Deployed AI Engineer (Abu Dhabi, on-site)

About the role

Understand before you build

• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate operational needs into technical requirements, constraints, and delivery priorities.
• Contribute across discovery, solution design, implementation, deployment, operation, and continuous improvement.
• Challenge assumptions and recognize when AI is not the appropriate solution.

Agentic AI solution development

• Design, build, deploy, and improve enterprise-grade agentic AI applications.
• Develop AI agents with reasoning, tool and API orchestration, context management, exception handling, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Implement production Retrieval-Augmented Generation, including ingestion, chunking, vector search, grounding, and source traceability.
• Connect AI systems through MCP, REST APIs, OpenAPI, webhooks, messaging, and event-driven architectures.
• Apply tool calling, schema validation, retries, fallbacks, guardrails, and recovery paths.

Quality, reliability, and governance

• Use testing, evaluation, observability, structured logging, version control, and feedback mechanisms to ensure solution quality.
• Optimize solutions across accuracy, reliability, performance, security, latency, and cost.
• Apply security, privacy, access-control, auditability, responsible-AI, and governance requirements.

Delivery and collaboration

• Work with product owners, AI architects, engineers, and business stakeholders across discovery and delivery.
• Implement multi-agent systems, agent-to-agent communication, tool orchestration, and evaluation frameworks.
• Contribute reusable components, documented patterns, implementation guidance, and operational runbooks.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, testing, releases, troubleshooting, and post-release improvement.
• Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required skills and experience

• Demonstrated curiosity and ability to understand complex business and operational challenges before proposing solutions.
• A business-first, human-centered approach to augmenting people with AI.
• Excellent English communication skills and experience in diverse international teams.
• Strong production software experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models, or applied machine learning.
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying agentic AI solutions.
• At least 5 years of Python programming experience and expertise in TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, or C#.
• Working knowledge of MCP and modern agent orchestration frameworks or enterprise AI platforms.
• Understanding of asynchronous programming, APIs, typed validation, CI/CD, testing, source control, logging, and error handling.
• Experience with vector databases, production RAG, enterprise integrations, and containerized cloud deployment.

Additional qualifications

• Experience in aviation, transportation, logistics, supply chain, cargo operations, customer service, or other complex operational environments is a plus.
• Classical machine learning, data science, or advanced analytics experience is a plus.
• Full-stack engineering, Voice AI, email automation, CRM integration, workflow automation, or multilingual AI experience is a plus.
• Evaluation frameworks, golden datasets, simulation testing, regression suites, and AI quality measurement experience is a plus.
• Multi-agent architecture, agent registry, agent communication, or tool-orchestration standards experience is a plus.
• Relevant cloud AI, Generative AI, agentic AI, MLOps, or related certifications are a plus.

Work model and relocation

• The role is full-time and on-site in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
• The assignment is initially one year with possible extension.
• Planned support includes a UAE employment visa, medical insurance, flights, approved broker fees, apartment-search assistance, and local arrival support, subject to the final written offer.
