Purpose
Manage and maintain the fixed assets accounting function.
Ensure accurate asset records, compliance with accounting standards and internal policies, and effective financial control over capital expenditures and fixed assets.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed assets register, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting policies.
- Review and process asset capitalization requests in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Process fixed asset transfers, disposals, and write-offs.
- Perform periodic verification of fixed assets and investigate discrepancies.
- Review CAPEX requests and ensure compliance with approved accounting policies and procedures.
- Monitor capital projects and ensure timely capitalization upon project completion.
- Prepare management reports and analysis related to CAPEX, depreciation, and fixed assets.
- Calculate and review depreciation expenses and ensure accurate accounting records.
- Support internal and external audits by providing relevant fixed assets documentation and reconciliations.
- Recommend process improvements and strengthen internal controls over fixed assets.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure proper asset tracking and accurate financial reporting.
Requirements
- Maintain accurate fixed asset records and comply with accounting policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Review and process asset capitalization requests in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Review CAPEX requests for compliance with approved accounting policies and procedures.
- Calculate and review depreciation expenses and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Provide fixed asset documentation and reconciliations for internal and external audits.
