Job Purpose
Execute and monitor daily general ledger accounting operations with a specialized focus on fixed assets, lease accounting, and intangible assets.
Ensure financial data is recorded accurately in accordance with IFRS and approved policies.
General Accounting
- Record journal entries for financial transactions and verify supporting documents and accounting standards.
- Perform bank reconciliations, reconcile month-end account balances, review classifications, and maintain transaction records.
Lease Accounting
- Set up lease contracts in D365 Asset Leasing and calculate present values, right-of-use assets, and lease liabilities.
- Process lease payments, manage monthly depreciation and finance cost runs, and track expiring contracts and renewal accruals.
- Coordinate lease data with the Commercial Expansion team.
Fixed Assets and Intangibles
- Manage D365 Fixed Assets lifecycle activities, including capitalization, construction work in progress monitoring, and transfers to active assets.
- Maintain depreciation and amortization schedules, perform impairment reviews, and capitalize and amortize qualified intangible expenditures.
Closing and Reporting
- Post month-end asset journal entries, run depreciation and amortization batches, and prepare roll-forward schedules.
- Support monthly and annual closing, contribute to financial statement preparation, follow up on facility payments, and provide audit data.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent field.
- Two to four years of experience in general accounting, with fixed asset or lease accounting exposure preferred.
- Hands-on D365 Fixed Assets and/or Asset Leasing experience is required.
- Working knowledge of IFRS 16, IAS 16, and IAS 38 is required.
- SOCPA or CMA certification is preferred.
