Role overview
A UAE packaging manufacturing client is seeking a hands-on Financial Accountant or Financial Controller.
The role supports a financial data remediation and reconciliation project.
Key responsibilities
- Reconcile general ledger balances with AP, AR, and inventory subledgers.
- Investigate historical reconciliation differences and identify root causes.
- Review underlying transactions and supporting documentation.
- Remap balances where historical postings have not flowed correctly through subledgers.
- Support corrective and adjustment journal entries.
- Review other material balance-sheet reconciliations as required.
- Ensure accurate alignment of financial data within the ERP system.
- Prepare reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation.
- Establish and document reconciliation processes and controls.
- Leave a clean, accurate, and controlled set of financial data.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of relevant finance or accounting experience.
- Experience as a Financial Controller, Financial Accountant, Senior Accountant, or similar.
- Strong hands-on experience with GL, AP, AR, inventory, and balance-sheet reconciliations.
- Proven experience investigating and resolving historical accounting discrepancies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work at transaction level and independently resolve complex reconciliation issues.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- D365 F&O experience is highly desirable.
- Manufacturing or industrial sector experience is an advantage.
- Immediate or short-notice availability is preferred.
