Finance Manager

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Develop financial strategies, risk minimization plans, and financial opportunity forecasts.
• Oversee budgets and ensure spending remains aligned with approved financial plans.
• Prepare, review, and interpret financial reports for management.
• Prepare board and committee packs, regulatory reports, and statutory financial statements.
• Analyze costs, pricing, profitability, sales results, and business performance.
• Develop forecasts and projections for short-term and long-term planning.
• Monitor performance, risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
• Advise on investment activities, cost-benefit analysis, asset management, and resource allocation.
• Maintain financial controls and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Lead, guide, and support finance employees.
• Work with management and departments on budgets, costs, performance, and business planning.
• Support Health, Safety and Environment requirements within the area of responsibility.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Five to seven years of progressive finance experience.
• Two to three years of managerial or supervisory experience.
• Experience in financial forecasting, risk management, and accounting or financial software systems.
• CFA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification is advantageous.
• An MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification is beneficial.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong financial management, accounting principles, and financial statistics knowledge.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, analysis, and reporting skills.
• Knowledge of statutory financial legislation and regulations.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to supervise finance employees and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
