Role Description

  • The Finance Director will oversee core financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring financial performance to support the library’s strategic objectives.
  • This is a part time hybrid role based in Dubai, with a combination of on site work and some work from home flexibility.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations.
  • Developing financial policies, guiding cost control initiatives, analyzing financial data to support decision making, and advising leadership on long term financial planning.
  • Collaborating with internal departments to manage funding, track project finances, and optimize resource allocation.

Qualifications

  • Strong finance foundation, including Finance and Financial Planning skills, enabling effective budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial guidance.
  • Proficiency in Financial Statements and Financial Reporting, with the ability to prepare, review, and present accurate and timely reports to stakeholders.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and provide clear recommendations for operational and strategic decisions.
  • Experience in financial control, compliance, and risk management, preferably within public sector, cultural institutions, or non profit environments.
  • Relevant academic background such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) are an advantage.
  • Proficiency with modern financial systems and tools, including ERP software, spreadsheets, and data visualization platforms.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural teams and explain financial information to non financial stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage part time hybrid schedules, and prioritize tasks across multiple projects and deadlines.
