Job Purpose and Organizational Context

  • UNDP supports country led efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 170 countries.
  • Saudi Arabia is implementing its Vision 2030 development programme, and UNDP provides technical assistance to support reform processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance of financial processes and records with UN/UNDP rules, regulations, policies and strategies.
  • Provide inputs for preparation of cost recovery bills in Atlas and follow up on cost recovery.
  • Proper control of supporting documents for payments and financial reports; prepare vouchers for projects and on behalf of UNOPS and non Atlas Agencies.
  • Maintain internal expenditures control system; ensure vouchers are matched, completed, and correctly posted.
  • Present information on financial resources status as required.
  • Maintain Accounts Receivables for UNDP projects and record deposits in Atlas.
  • Manage cash receipts and petty cash.
  • Maintain proper filing system for finance records and documents.
  • Alternate to Finance Associate for timely review of cash position and bank statements.
  • Prepare monthly UN exchange rate report to Treasury.
  • Initiate bank transfers and deals in Atlas.
  • Participate in trainings for operations/projects staff on Finance.

Recruitment Qualifications

  • Secondary Education with specialized certification in Accounting and Finance.
  • University Degree in Finance, Business or Public Administration desirable but not required.
  • Part qualified accountants from an internationally recognized institute are considered.
