Role Overview
Field Services Technician I is an entry-level onsite IT support role.
The role provides end-user support, device deployment, ticket management, asset tracking, and basic AV support.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to IT service tickets using documented procedures and supervision.
- Provide onsite and remote support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices.
- Troubleshoot common hardware and software issues and escalate unresolved problems.
- Assist with workstation imaging, deployment, recovery, re-imaging, and e-waste processes.
- Maintain ticket documentation, asset records, inventory, labels, tags, and stock tracking.
- Perform AV checks, conference room technology setup, and room readiness tasks.
- Follow safety protocols, SOPs, change and incident management, and client-specific guidelines.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with users while delivering customer-focused service.
Education and Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- IT-related coursework or vocational training is preferred.
- CompTIA A+, Google IT Support Certificate, or a similar entry-level credential is a plus.
- Knowledge of Windows 10/11, macOS, basic Linux, mobile platforms, networking, and ITSM tools is expected.
- The role requires regularly lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs (22 kg).
Technical Skills
- Troubleshooting and deployment of desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
- Basic AV and conference room technology support.
- ITSM and ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira.
- Device imaging tools such as SCCM, JAMF, or MDT.
- Inventory and asset tracking for IT equipment lifecycle management.
Work Environment
- This is a 100% onsite role with mandatory presence during working hours.
- Work is primarily performed in offices, data centers, and AV-equipped conference rooms.
- Occasional local travel may be required across multi-building campuses or nearby sites.
- The role includes frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and working in tight spaces.
