Job Description
- Study contractual scope, applicable specifications, standards, and electrical scheme drawings.
- Prepare site test procedures and test formats.
- Plan and schedule testing and commissioning activities.
- Identify and arrange test equipment.
- Verify availability of required documentation.
- Proceed with testing and commissioning of equipment.
- Issue documentation of test results.
- Issue certification for energization and operation.
- Investigate reported malfunction and implement curative action.
- Coordinate with customer for outage, gate pass, work permit.
- Verify application of safety rules and maintenance of test instruments.
- Report on progress and completion of jobs.
Responsibilities
- Performing test of protection relays and substation electrical HV/LV equipment.
- Testing of vacuum reclosers, pad mounted transformers, instrument transformers, surge arresters, switchboard, grounding system, and relay protection systems.
- Ensuring performance of all field testing on substation equipment accurately and safely.
- Developing and executing substation equipment test procedures.
- Providing technical instruction and mentoring to field testing technicians.
- Developing testing & commissioning departmental and project requirements.
- Ensuring compliance of testing QA/QC process.
- Regularly meeting and liaising with clients.
- Consulting with client on testing and commissioning projects.
- Maintaining excellent relationship with client and field personnel.
