Field Engineer – Architectural Finishes

Role overview

Construction supervision

• Inspect floors, walls, ceilings, cladding systems, decorative elements, and fit-out works.
• Verify approved materials, workmanship standards, construction methodologies, mock-ups, and sample boards are followed.
• Identify deficiencies and ensure contractors implement corrective actions.

Technical review and coordination

• Review architectural shop drawings, material submissions, finish schedules, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, MEP, interior design, and landscape teams to resolve interface issues.
• Evaluate technical queries and value engineering proposals while maintaining project standards.

Quality and materials control

• Ensure compliance with quality plans, inspection procedures, inspection and test plans, and contractual requirements.
• Monitor material delivery, storage, handling, installation, substitutions, samples, mock-ups, and manufacturer certifications.
• Inspect completed finishes for appearance, alignment, texture, color, and workmanship.

Progress and handover

• Conduct site inspections, monitor contractor productivity and schedules, and identify delays or constraints.
• Participate in snagging, de-snagging, final inspections, punch-list closure, testing, acceptance, and handover.
• Maintain inspection records, non-conformance reports, corrective actions, site instructions, and closeout documentation.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, architectural engineering, interior design, civil engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8–12 years of experience in architectural finishes, fit-out works, and construction supervision.
• Minimum 5 years of site supervision consultancy experience on major building developments.
• Experience with convention centers, luxury hotels, resorts, mixed-use developments, and large commercial projects.
• Previous GCC experience, preferably in Saudi Arabia, is highly desirable.

Technical and behavioral competencies

• Knowledge of architectural finishes, fit-out practices, finishing materials, façade systems, ceiling systems, flooring, decorative finishes, and building envelopes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms, and construction management systems.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
