Role Description
The Cashier role is a full-time, on-site position based in Jorhat.
The role handles daily cash and electronic transactions, receipts, payment records, and payment-related inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Manage the cash register and reconcile cash at the end of each day.
- Prepare basic financial summaries and support billing and invoice processing.
- Maintain accurate payment records and respond to payment-related inquiries.
- Follow internal financial procedures and collaborate with administration and accounting teams.
- Interact with members, suppliers, and visitors using a customer-focused approach.
Qualifications
- Strong numeracy and basic accounting skills, including accurate cash handling, reconciliation, and record-keeping.
- Proficiency with point-of-sale systems, payment processing tools, and standard office software.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to interact courteously with colleagues, members, and vendors.
- Reliability, integrity, attention to detail, and confidentiality when handling financial information.
- Ability to work on-site in Jorhat, manage time efficiently, and work independently under established procedures.
- Prior cashier, accounts assistant, or similar administrative or finance experience is preferred.
- Secondary school completion is required; additional commerce, finance, or accounting coursework is advantageous.
