About Us

  • YALA Kombucha is an award winning beverage manufacturer and the UAE's first kombucha bar.
  • We produce premium non alcoholic fermented beverages from our HACCP certified production facility in ICAD, Abu Dhabi.
  • We are looking for a proactive and hands on Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities Production Operations

  • Supervise daily production activities including brewing, fermentation, blending, filtration (where applicable), bottling, canning, kegging, labelling, packing, and dispatch preparation.
  • Ensure production schedules are achieved while maintaining product quality.
  • Allocate daily tasks and supervise production line operators and warehouse staff.
  • Monitor labour productivity and workflow efficiency.
  • Ensure equipment is correctly prepared before production begins.
  • Minimise downtime by proactively addressing operational issues.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, logistics, sales, and management to meet customer delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities Team Leadership

  • Supervise, coach, and motivate production employees.
  • Train staff on SOPs, HACCP, hygiene, food safety, and safe equipment operation.
  • Conduct daily shift briefings.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, and productivity.
  • Identify training needs and support employee development.
  • Escalate disciplinary or performance issues to management when necessary.
  • Foster a positive safety and quality culture within the production team.

Key Responsibilities Food Safety & Quality

  • Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety regulations, municipality requirements, and company procedures.
  • Verify production follows approved recipes, specifications, and batch instructions.
  • Perform in process quality inspections.
  • Ensure cleaning and sanitation procedures are completed correctly.
  • Supervise Cleaning in Place (CIP) and manual sanitation procedures.
  • Investigate quality deviations and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure calibration checks and routine quality verification activities are completed.

Key Responsibilities Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain complete and accurate production records.
  • Ensure batch manufacturing records are completed correctly.
  • Maintain cleaning, sanitation, maintenance, and quality logs.
  • Ensure HACCP documentation remains accurate and audit ready.
  • Prepare documentation required for customer, regulatory, and certification audits.
  • Report production deviations, food safety incidents, equipment failures, and corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities Inventory & Warehouse Management

  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging materials, chemicals, consumables, and finished goods.
  • Perform routine inventory counts and assist with monthly stock reconciliation.
  • Ensure FIFO/FEFO stock rotation is followed.
  • Monitor product storage conditions.
  • Report stock shortages, damaged materials, expired products, and excessive wastage.
  • Coordinate with procurement regarding material requirements.
  • Ensure warehouse organisation and cleanliness are maintained.
  • Supervise receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods.

Key Responsibilities Equipment & Maintenance

  • Ensure production equipment is operated correctly.
  • Perform routine operational inspections.
  • Report maintenance requirements promptly.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules with management.
  • Ensure equipment breakdowns are documented and resolved efficiently.
  • Support installation and commissioning of new production equipment when required.

Key Responsibilities Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports for management.
  • Report production output, labour utilisation, downtime, waste, yields, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor key production KPIs and recommend improvements.
  • Analyse recurring production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in production planning meetings.
  • Support implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Escalate operational risks and resource constraints to management in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
  • HACCP certification is preferred.
  • Food Safety or GMP training is an advantage.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in food production or related field.
