Expert Solution Architect

Role Purpose

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end solution architectures for complex business and technology initiatives.
• Translate business requirements into application, integration, data, infrastructure, and security architecture.
• Define solution components, interfaces, technology patterns, and integration approaches.
• Design payment flows and platform solutions across schemes, partners, and core systems.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, technology, SAMA regulatory, data residency, and audit requirements.
• Evaluate build-versus-buy options and vendor solutions against business and technical requirements.
• Assess architectures for technical risks, dependencies, constraints, high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery.
• Review technical designs and implementations for alignment with approved architecture.
• Present solution designs in architecture governance forums and guide engineering teams across multiple squads.
• Support modernization, scalability, resilience, technology optimization, and architecture documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of software engineering and architecture experience, including end-to-end solution ownership.
• Strong breadth across application, integration, data, cloud, and security architecture.
• Hands-on experience as a senior engineer before moving into architecture.
• Payments or banking experience with knowledge of card schemes, ISO 8583 or ISO 20022, and national payment rails.
• TOGAF or an equivalent architecture certification is preferred.
