Role Purpose

Workplace

Main Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architectures for complex business and technology initiatives.
• Translate requirements into application, integration, data, infrastructure, and security architecture.
• Define solution components, interfaces, technology patterns, and integration approaches.
• Design payment flows and platform solutions across schemes, partners, and core systems.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, SAMA, data residency, and audit requirements.
• Evaluate build-versus-buy options and vendor solutions.
• Assess technical risks, dependencies, and constraints.
• Design high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery for payment-critical systems.
• Review technical implementations, present designs in governance forums, and guide engineering teams across squads.
• Support modernization, scalability, resilience, and technology optimization initiatives.
• Maintain architecture documentation, solution diagrams, and technical decision records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least five years of software engineering and architecture experience, including end-to-end solution ownership.
• Strong breadth across application, integration, data, cloud, and security architecture.
• Hands-on experience as a senior engineer before moving into architecture.
• Payments or banking experience with knowledge of card schemes, ISO 8583 or ISO 20022, and national payment rails.
• TOGAF or an equivalent architecture certification is preferred.
