Role Description
The Executive Director is a part-time, remote role providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for Ektifa's agricultural and livestock initiatives.
The role includes regular virtual coordination with occasional travel as needed.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine organizational strategy for agricultural and livestock initiatives.
- Align investment projects with food-security and sustainability goals.
- Ensure governance and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Oversee financial and business performance, budget planning, and key performance indicators.
- Report to governing authorities and build partnerships with government, industry, and community stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor senior staff while driving efficient project execution and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in agriculture, livestock production, agribusiness, or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of food security and sustainable development.
- Expertise in strategic planning, organizational management, governance, budgeting, investment evaluation, risk management, and performance monitoring.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading remote or geographically distributed teams and using digital collaboration tools.
- Relevant academic background in agriculture, animal science, agribusiness, economics, public administration, business administration, or a related field.
- Knowledge of regional regulatory frameworks related to agriculture, livestock, and food security is an advantage.
- Commitment to ethical, inclusive, non-discriminatory management and responsible resource use.
Work Arrangement
- The position is remote and involves regular virtual coordination.
- Occasional travel is required as needed.
