Executive Chef

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare daily specials and manage the cafeteria services for the client • Prepare catered meals for buffet, delivery or pick up services as required • Train and manage a staff of 8, coordinate culinary activities • Place orders, conduct inventory, schedule staff and source from various vendors • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food • Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality in this scratch kitchen • Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of 5 years culinary experience • Culinary diploma or degree is required • Experience in operating a scratch kitchen, menu development and various cooking methods • Ability to manage food and labour costs, prepare and submit budget reports as required • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
