Responsibilities
- Lead overall event strategy, ensuring long term growth, market relevance, and competitive positioning
- Own and manage full event P&L, including revenue delivery, cost control, and profitability
- Drive total sales performance across the event portfolio in collaboration with internal sales teams, agents, and local market channels
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with government bodies, industry associations, partners, and key market stakeholders
- Ensure event brands remain aligned with wider portfolio strategy while adapting to local market requirements
- Oversee development and execution of event marketing strategy and objectives
- Identify and develop new event concepts, launches, and vertical extensions within existing portfolio markets
- Oversee all operational planning and preparations to ensure successful event delivery
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Events, or related field
- 10+ years in exhibitions/events with portfolio leadership responsibility
- Proven experience managing full P&L and multi channel sales (direct, agent, partner)
- Experience in multi market environments (Africa/Middle East/Asia preferred)
- Strong understanding of B2B exhibitions (construction/infrastructure preferred)

Job Purpose
- To lead, grow, and deliver a portfolio of events, driving long term growth, commercial performance, and industry impact.
- Full P&L accountability, including international and local sales delivery.
- Acts as strategic leader ensuring cross functional alignment and adapting event brands to local market needs.
Event Strategy and Leadership
- Lead overall event strategy for long term growth, market relevance, and competitive positioning.
- Develop and maintain a 3 year strategic plan for each event.
- Use data, market intelligence, and customer feedback to shape event direction.
- Ensure cross functional alignment across Sales, Marketing, PR, Content, and Operations.
P&L Management
- Own and manage full event P&L, including revenue delivery, cost control, and profitability.
- Set, manage, and deliver event budgets and financial targets.
- Monitor performance against budget and establish monthly forecasting.
- Provide accurate reporting of KPIs and financial performance.
Commercial Leadership
- Drive total sales performance across the event portfolio.
- Execute agreed sales and sponsorship strategies.
- Participate in meetings and negotiations with key customers and sponsors.
- Monitor sales performance and ensure accurate reporting through Salesforce.
Stakeholder and Partner Management
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with government bodies, industry associations, and partners.
- Strengthen event's market position through effective stakeholder engagement.
Brand Management & Market Adaptation
- Ensure event brands align with portfolio strategy while adapting to local markets.
- Oversee event positioning, messaging, and market specific branding.
- Drive exhibitor retention, audience growth, and market leadership.
Marketing
- Oversee development and execution of event marketing strategy.
- Work with Senior Marketing Manager to increase visitor attendance and audience quality.
- Ensure event websites are up to date and aligned with brand standards.
- Monitor marketing performance against KPIs.
Business Development
- Identify and develop new event concepts and vertical extensions.
- Evaluate market opportunities and customer demand.
- Develop business cases for new initiatives.
Operational Delivery
- Oversee operational planning and preparations for successful event delivery.
- Ensure events meet quality, safety, and customer satisfaction standards.
- Work with Operations teams to achieve timelines and budgets.
- Implement continuous improvements to enhance customer experience.
