Job Purpose
Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and pricing for construction and building projects.
Work with tendering, commercial, procurement, engineering, and project teams to assess costs against project requirements, specifications, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project requirements to identify scope and cost requirements.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates for construction and building projects.
- Analyze materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and other direct and indirect project costs.
- Prepare pricing and cost breakdowns for tenders and project proposals.
- Obtain, evaluate, and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Project teams to clarify technical requirements and project scope.
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, assumptions, risks, and potential cost impacts.
- Maintain cost databases, supplier rates, productivity rates, and historical project costing information.
- Support tender submissions and commercial proposals within required deadlines.
- Conduct market and cost analysis based on current construction market conditions.
- Participate in tender clarification meetings and respond to commercial and technical queries.
- Assist with costing variations, additional works, and change orders.
