- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, project management, finance, and other teams to develop accurate proposals
- Manage tendering and bid preparation processes, including subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Monitor KPIs including estimate accuracy, bid success rate, gross margin performance, and variance
- Conduct quantity take offs, value engineering assessments, cost benchmarking, risk analyses, and contingency planning
- Maintain estimating databases, cost libraries, historical pricing records, and commercial documentation
- Lead, mentor, and develop estimators, cost engineers, quantity surveyors, and cross functional teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in estimating, cost engineering, quantity surveying, bid management, construction management, or related commercial roles
- 2+ years of experience managing estimating teams or bid preparation processes preferred
- Strong understanding of cost estimation methodologies, tendering processes, quantity take offs, value engineering, procurement, contract management, project costing, and financial analysis
- Experience with estimating software, BIM platforms, CAD applications, ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, cost databases, and project management tools
- Strong analytical, commercial, organizational, negotiation, and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, presentation, technical documentation, and cross functional collaboration abilities

The Role
- We are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead the development, review, and management of project cost estimates, bid proposals, and commercial pricing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement estimating strategies, methodologies, standards, and best practices aligned with organizational objectives and project requirements.
- Lead the preparation of conceptual, preliminary, detailed, and final cost estimates for construction, engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
- Review project specifications, drawings, technical documents, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documentation to determine labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, project management, finance, operations, business development, and executive leadership to develop accurate and competitive project proposals.
- Manage tendering and bid preparation processes, including subcontractor and supplier quotations, pricing analyses, commercial evaluations, and proposal submissions.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including estimate accuracy, bid success rate, gross margin performance, variance between estimated and actual costs, proposal turnaround time, and estimating productivity.
- Conduct quantity take offs, value engineering assessments, cost benchmarking, risk analyses, and contingency planning to improve estimate quality and profitability.
- Evaluate project risks, market conditions, material price trends, labor availability, and supply chain factors to develop realistic cost projections.
- Maintain estimating databases, cost libraries, historical pricing records, productivity benchmarks, and commercial documentation to support continuous improvement.
- Utilize estimating software, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and analytics platforms to streamline estimating activities.
- Prepare cost reports, bid analyses, commercial summaries, executive presentations, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
- Lead, mentor, and develop estimators, cost engineers, quantity surveyors, and cross functional teams while fostering a culture of accuracy, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Master's degree or professional certifications such as Certified Cost Professional (CCP), Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS), Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent are advantageous.
- 5+ years of experience in estimating, cost engineering, quantity surveying, bid management, construction management, or related commercial roles.
- 2+ years of experience managing estimating teams, bid preparation processes, or commercial operations preferred.
- Strong understanding of cost estimation methodologies, tendering processes, quantity take offs, value engineering, procurement, contract management, project costing, and financial analysis.
- Experience with estimating software, BIM platforms, CAD applications, ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, cost databases, and project management tools.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts, construction codes, engineering standards, risk management methodologies, and digital estimating technologies is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, commercial, organizational, negotiation, and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, presentation, technical documentation, and cross functional collaboration abilities.
- Ability to produce accurate estimates while balancing competitiveness, profitability, technical requirements, and project risks.
- Ability to work independently in remote and hybrid environments.
