KBR delivers engineering, technology, sustainability, and mission-critical services across the asset life cycle.

KBR is overseeing a diverse Abu Dhabi project portfolio covering transportation, utilities, public spaces, residential housing, educational facilities, mosques, and infill development.

The role is part of a Project Management Consultancy program in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Role Overview

The Environmental Engineer, PMC, supports the Environmental and Sustainability Manager with environmental management system implementation across program operations.

The role monitors and coordinates consultants and contractors to support compliance, environmental initiatives, and best practices.

Main Responsibilities

  • Monitor the ALDAR Environmental Management System and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct environmental inspections and audits at project sites.
  • Verify site observation closeout reports, environmental reports, and related documentation.
  • Promote environmental awareness through client and KBR corporate initiatives.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, third-party consultants, and regulatory authorities.
  • Guide project teams on environmental requirements and help resolve environmental issues.
  • Assist with the monthly environmental project monitoring plan.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related science discipline.
  • At least 10 years of relevant environmental management experience in the construction industry.
  • ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems Lead Auditor certification.
  • At least 5 years of Middle East work experience.
  • ALDAR Environmental Management System experience is preferred.
  • Project Management Consultancy or related consultancy experience is preferred.
  • Abu Dhabi experience is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong UAE environmental regulatory knowledge and understanding of environmental and sustainability standards.
  • Strong project management capability and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent report writing skills and experienced use of Microsoft Office and Primavera.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required; Arabic is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make decisions, solve environmental issues, work under pressure, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proactive approach to risk management and conflict resolution.
