Engineering Supervisor

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily engineering team activities and ensure maintenance work is safe, efficient, and on schedule.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, kitchen, and building systems.
• Assign work orders, monitor progress, and complete maintenance requests on time.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and plant rooms.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and guide technicians during repairs.
• Monitor equipment and recommend repairs, replacements, or improvements.
• Maintain tools, equipment, spare parts, records, work orders, and inspection reports.
• Coordinate with hotel departments and monitor contractor work to minimize disruption.
• Promote energy conservation and support sustainability programs.
• Ensure compliance with IHG standards, hotel policies, local regulations, and occupational safety requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related technical field.
• Three to five years of engineering maintenance experience, including at least two years in a supervisory role.
• Hotel engineering experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting, technical, problem-solving, leadership, communication, and team supervision skills.
• Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple maintenance activities.
• Microsoft Office and CMMS/BMS proficiency are advantageous.
• Good command of English; Arabic is an advantage.

Work Environment

• The role supports maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, plant rooms, and other hotel facilities.
