Role Overview

ASSYSTEM is hiring an Engineering Project Manager for its Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit.

The role combines engineering and project management with client account management and delivery of framework agreements.

The position works across sales propositions, bids, contracts, invoices, finances, resourcing, governance, and project delivery.

The role has no direct reports but works closely with finance, recruitment, operations, and engineering teams.

Your Mission

  • Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships to drive engagement with ASSYSTEM.
  • Manage framework agreements, ensuring compliance, quality delivery, and alignment with client expectations.
  • Promote ASSYSTEM capabilities and advise clients on suitable solutions.
  • Support bid activities and positioning for future framework opportunities.
  • Oversee day-to-day framework operations and adherence to delivery processes.
  • Manage team growth, onboarding, resourcing, and support Project Managers.
  • Monitor P&L, revenue, invoicing, budgets, overheads, and financial performance.
  • Establish governance, controls, and management tools.
  • Track performance, client satisfaction, spend, and value delivery.
  • Ensure legal and contractual compliance across frameworks.
  • Represent ASSYSTEM in supplier reviews and industry forums.
  • Conduct project reviews, identify risks and opportunities, and support business planning and strategy.

Qualifications

  • Applicants should have a background in engineering and project management.
  • The role requires curiosity, resilience, accountability, and commitment to delivery.
  • Candidates should manage ambiguity and multiple priorities and adapt their communication to stakeholder needs.
  • Candidates should challenge issues, identify root causes, and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Strong relationship-building, collaboration, active listening, and knowledge-sharing skills are expected.
  • Applicants must meet applicable UK residency criteria for the required minimum security clearance if not already cleared to SC level.

Working Arrangement

  • The role offers hybrid work with one to two remote days per week.
