We are seeking a high-performance Engineering Manager to lead a dedicated team of Engineers building and scaling Focal , with a strong focus on innovation, reliability, and delivering impactful solutions for our customers.

As a Software Engineering Manager , your daily workload might include: Manage and mentor a team of engineers to design, develop and maintain product features.

Ensure the code and design quality are against the industry’s best practices and highest standards.

Coach and mentor team members on high-level design, architecture, effort sizing, and testing practices.

Give engineers feedback on their day-to-day job performance.

Steer the engineers’ individual learning and development plans.

Initiate hiring and the allocation of any resources needed to support the team.

Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments.

Oversee the implementation of the software development process.

Our target profile is candidates with...

BS/MS from a top school in Computer Science or any related field. 10 years of software engineering experience, preferably in SaaS or large-scale distributed applications.

Previous team leadership experience.

Solid communication skills and the ability to convey technical solutions to the end-user and the engineering team.

Ability to briefly explain sophisticated issues in systems and processes.

Solid experience of multiple programming languages with a demonstrated drive to learn and progress in the technical skill and nuanced art of development.

Proficient understanding of system design and distributed computing principles.

with SQL and NoSQL databases, such as HBase, Cassandra, and MongoDB.

Solid understanding of the Scrum agile framework and other software development processes.
