Remote full-time Engineering Manager role hired for a client.
Lead development of high-quality foundational large language models through supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning from human feedback tasks.
The role combines technical delivery, dataset quality, code quality, and management of large engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage teams of more than 20 Python, JavaScript, Java, and other-language developers.
- Collaborate with researcher clients to ensure satisfaction with delivered work.
- Maintain rigorous review processes for high-quality datasets.
- Oversee project transitions from initiation to stable states and own delivery.
- Identify and implement measures to improve code quality within the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in engineering management.
- Proven experience managing large technical teams in a delivery-oriented role.
- Experience with Python or Java and JavaScript.
- Demonstrated ability to perform hands-on technical work and resolve quality issues.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills focused on motivating teams.
