Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards by implementing safe working practices and monitoring adherence to safety legislation, minimizing risks to employees, equipment, and assets.
  • Enforce quality standards by ensuring adherence to ISO 9001:2015 and company policies, achieving consistent operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver project objectives within agreed timelines, budgets, and specifications to meet business requirements effectively.
  • Develop and oversee maintenance schedules to ensure robust and realistic plans, minimizing equipment downtime and optimizing performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues promptly to reduce downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Manage repair schedules and budgets by approving cost-effective and timely resolutions, ensuring alignment with departmental financial constraints.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure the availability of required stocks and supplies, preventing disruptions to operations.
  • Define and communicate team roles and expectations to ensure clarity in responsibilities and accountability, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Set and monitor performance objectives for team members, providing regular feedback and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Monitor and analyse operational data to evaluate equipment performance, recommend improvements, and implement optimization programs to maximize plant efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Education Qualification:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Project Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications in Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001:2015), Maintenance Management, or Safety Standards (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) are an advantage.
  • Work Experience:
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in engineering, maintenance, or plant operations, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, or catering environment.
  • Proven track record in managing engineering teams and delivering maintenance or operational projects within budget and timelines.
  • Hands-on experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment failures.
  • Experience in implementing ISO standards and ensuring compliance with safety and quality regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze operational data and recommend process improvements for equipment and team performance.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance practices, including preventive and reactive maintenance strategies.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving complex equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Expertise in project management, including delivering within timelines, budgets, and specifications.
  • Understanding of quality management systems and adherence to ISO 9001:2015 standards.
