About the Role

The Engineering Manager, Agentic Insights leads the team turning cross-portfolio data into actionable products for partners.

The role owns Claims Benefit Intelligence, the Sales Dashboard, and the roadmap for agentic AI features and additional data products.

The role collaborates with Product, Data Platform, Data Science, Insurance Operations, AI, and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow engineers building partner-facing data products.
  • Own product roadmaps and onboard existing products into the team.
  • Own the BrightWrite Metrics service, ensuring consistent metrics and strong governance.
  • Establish reliability, latency, observability, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, testing, and data quality practices.
  • Partner with Product on engagement and the value of delivered insights.

What You Will Bring

  • At least 8 years in software or data engineering and at least 2 years leading or managing engineering teams.
  • Experience building data or analytics products for external, non-technical users.
  • Experience taking agentic systems from prototype to production with evaluation and guardrails.
  • Warehouse-scale data platform experience with dbt and an orchestrator such as Airflow, plus expert SQL and strong Python.
  • Comfort leading work across Python or Django, BigQuery, Node.js or TypeScript, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, Terraform, and Datadog.
  • Experience adopting AI-assisted development practices and measuring productivity and quality impact.

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop technical experts.
  • Product instinct focused on partner decisions and insights acted upon rather than features shipped.
  • Pragmatic judgment about when AI is appropriate and integrity around privacy and data quality.
  • Strategic mindset, strong problem-solving ability, ownership, and reliability.

Work Environment

  • Teams work in a hybrid environment, working from home on Wednesday and Thursday and attending the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.
  • Start and finish times have flexibility.

Compensation

  • The position offers a base salary compensation range of C$150,000 to C$190,000 annually.
