About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead data operations, analytics, merchant reporting, and partner reporting teams.
• Define trusted metric meanings, sources of truth, ownership, and business-approved logic.
• Own governance documentation, definition standards, and change control for the semantic layer.
• Own the internal BI tool, drive adoption, support self-service dashboards, and train users.
• Own reporting accuracy, reconciliation, and regulatory reporting for merchants and partners.
• Instrument OKRs with accurate tracking and ensure domains have the data assets needed to measure progress.
• Use data, AI, and automation to reduce manual work and replace ad hoc spreadsheets.
• Grow the team, create career paths, and improve data literacy across the business.

Skills and Experience

• 10+ years in data or reporting operations, including 4+ years leading managers.
• Experience resolving ownership and accountability gaps across technical and business teams.
• Fluency with dbt, BigQuery, semantic layers, and BI tools.
• Experience defining metrics and governance across multiple data teams.
• Ability to present data strategy and risk to C-suite and cross-functional leadership.
• Experience building multi-team roadmaps and coordinating work through clear ownership and follow-through.

Preferred Experience

• Insurance, insurtech, fintech, or other regulated data-heavy industry experience is a plus.
• Experience supporting actuarial or underwriting teams or running fraud or risk analytics is a plus.

• Move between executive strategy conversations and technical discussions with data engineering without owning the technical decision.

Compensation

• Cash compensation is listed as CAD 195,000–245,000 base salary.
