Overview

Supervise and monitor mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction activities for complex building developments.

Ensure MEP systems are installed, tested, commissioned, and handed over in accordance with designs, specifications, quality, safety, and performance requirements.

Construction Supervision

  • Monitor HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, ELV, and building-services installations.
  • Verify work against approved methodologies, drawings, and engineering standards.
  • Inspect workmanship, witness testing, identify deficiencies, and coordinate corrective actions.

Technical Review and Coordination

  • Review MEP shop drawings, coordination drawings, material submissions, and technical proposals.
  • Coordinate with architectural, structural, civil, and specialist engineering teams on interface issues.
  • Evaluate technical queries, design modifications, value engineering proposals, and site-related challenges.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Ensure MEP works comply with project specifications, quality plans, and applicable industry standards.
  • Review inspection, testing, commissioning, and quality documentation.
  • Monitor inspection and test plans, non-conforming works, corrective actions, audits, and compliance reviews.

Testing and Commissioning

  • Monitor pre-commissioning, testing, commissioning, and performance verification for all MEP systems.
  • Ensure testing follows approved commissioning plans and project requirements.
  • Coordinate integrated systems testing and support commissioning issue resolution.
  • Assist with snagging, de-snagging, and final MEP handover activities.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with client representatives, contractors, consultants, authorities, and project teams on MEP matters.
  • Participate in progress meetings, technical coordination meetings, and site inspections.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC, HSE, testing, and commissioning teams.
  • Support resolution of technical issues affecting cost, schedule, quality, or functionality.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on MEP progress, inspections, testing, and compliance.
  • Maintain inspection, approval, testing, commissioning, technical review, and closeout records.
  • Review contractor progress reports, document non-conformances, and maintain current project documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, building services engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional engineering registration is desirable, engineering institution membership is preferred, and relevant certifications are advantageous.
  • Minimum 8 to 12 years of MEP engineering and construction supervision experience is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of site supervision consultancy experience on large building developments is required.
  • Experience with convention centers, hotels, resorts, mixed-use developments, and high-rise projects is required.
  • Strong experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and ELV systems is required.
