The Mechanical Engineering group supports global business units and projects in mechanical design, drawing generation, and finite element calculations.
Role overview
The role provides design and detailing solutions for business problems and new developments within Transit Engineering.
The position focuses on mechanical product design, engineering analysis, validation, documentation, and release.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop transit products according to robust engineering R&D processes.
- Deliver projects according to business-unit cost, schedule, and quality targets.
- Perform concept development, technical risk mitigation, DFMEA, design-for-X, detailed design, validation, documentation, and release.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams and support OEM component selection.
- Work with suppliers to meet manufacturing, performance, and cost objectives.
- Create 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, parts lists, layouts, assembly drawings, and part outlines.
- Support analysis, proposals, testing and validation, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
