Role Overview
Responsible for the design, engineering, and execution support of HVDC substation systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineering of HVDC Substation systems , including converter stations and associated AC/DC equipment.
- Preparation and review of Single Line Diagrams (SLD) , layout drawings, and engineering documents.
- Engineering of HVDC equipment such as converters, transformers, smoothing reactors, filters, and switchgear.
- Development of equipment layouts, grounding systems, and cable routing for HVDC substations.
- Coordination with OEMs, consultants, and cross-functional teams for design integration.
- Review and approval of vendor drawings, datasheets, and technical specifications .
- Ensure compliance with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, and client specifications.
- Preparation of technical reports, BOQs, and documentation.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of HVDC technology (LCC/VSC systems) .
- Experience in substation design (AIS/GIS) and power transmission systems.
- Familiarity with protection & control systems in HVDC substations.
- Understanding of harmonic filters, reactive power compensation, and insulation coordination.
- Proficiency in engineering tools like AutoCAD, ETAP, PSCAD, or equivalent.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience: 4–7 Years
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
