Job Overview
- The Emergency Nurse 2 provides direct patient care in the assigned nursing unit and is responsible for implementing nursing processes including ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, maintaining patient safety and working under moderate supervision in order to deliver efficient and effective nurs
Strategic Roles & Responsibilities
- Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at improving the assigned units nursing practices
- Participate in the development of protocols and processes to enhance patient safety and operational efficiency
- Pursue high staff engagement
- Obtain high patient experience
- Achieve and sustain high quality of care and patient safety
- Support the empowerment of nurses through the enculturation of the JHAH nursing Professional Practice Model
Operational Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide various nursing care services as assigned including patient management
- Assist in routine clinical tasks and ensure patient safety throughout the process
- Collaborate with physicians and clinicians to support smooth operations within the unit
- Monitor patient progress and report concerns to senior staff
- Achieve and/or maintain the mandated set of activities for level 2 which is a minimum total of 15 points in at least three categories within each 12 month cycle as outlined in the Clinical Advancement Program
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document patient care from admission through discharge specific to the patients age
- Provide nursing care and patient/family education consistent with the plan of care and needs of the patients with respect for privacy, dignity, personal preference and culture
- Precept new hires and trainees during the probation training period and participate in making recommendations regarding progress and training needs
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency and life saving situations by utilizing clinical skills, critical thinking and evidence based practices
- Perform a wide range of nursing procedures in the assigned Emergency facility with attention to accuracy, patient safety and comfort while maintaining a safe, clean and organized environment
