About the Role
We are hiring an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic to respond to medical emergency calls, provide basic life support, and transport patients. The role requires patient assessment, use of medical equipment, and maintaining ambulance readiness.

- Administer activated charcoal, oral glucose, and oxygen as needed
- Constantly assess the patient en route to the emergency facility and administer additional care as directed
- Maintain vehicles, medical and communication equipment, and replenish supplies
- Clean equipment following appropriate disinfecting protocols
- Assist EMT paramedics in advanced life support care
- Conduct scene size up and primary/secondary patient examinations
- Take and record vital signs and utilize non invasive diagnostic devices
Requirements
- EMT Basic certification
- Experience in pre hospital emergency care
- Knowledge of basic life support protocols
- Ability to drive ambulance safely
- Physical ability to lift and transport patients

Responsibilities
- Responds to medical emergency calls, drives to the scene and provides basic life support to victims before transport.
- Evaluates the nature and extent of illness/injury to determine the right course of action.
- Provides medical aid such as AED, CPR, prevents spinal damage, ventilation, control severe bleeding, prevent shock, bandaging wounds, etc.
- Administration of activated charcoal, oral glucose and oxygen.
- Constantly assesses the patient en route to the emergency facility, administers additional care as indicated.
- Maintains vehicles and medical and communication equipment, and replenishes first aid equipment and supplies.
- Restocks all supplies in the ambulance and replaces used blankets, linens and other supplies.
- Cleans all equipment following appropriate disinfecting protocols.
- Continuously reassures the patient en route to the emergency facility.
- Assists all EMT paramedics in efficient advance life support care system.
- Performs direct illness/injury assessment, provides basic emergency pre hospital patient care prior to and during ambulance transfer.
- Maintains operational and functional readiness of ambulance unit, medical and other equipment.
Additional Duties
- Works closely with communications officers, field supervisors, emergency department and other hospital personnel.
- Respond to calls from communications dispatcher, use appropriate radio communication skills, read GPS maps, drive ambulance safely.
- Assists in lifting, carrying, transporting patient to ambulance and on to a medical facility.
- Follow established departmental policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety standards.
- Inspect and clean ambulance and equipment; review and restock all medical equipment.
- Conducts scene size up.
- Conduct primary and secondary patient examinations.
- Take and record vital signs.
- Utilize non invasive diagnostic devices.
- Properly use oropharyngeal & nasopharyngeal airway devices.
- Open and maintain airway by positioning the patient's head.
- Provide CPR & rescue breathing for infant, children, and adults.
