Position Overview

Work as a senior engineer optimizing Linux across the kernel, system software, middleware, applications, and graphical environments.

Deliver high-performance Linux experiences for next-generation hardware platforms in collaboration with hardware partners and specialists.

Support use cases spanning robotics, connected devices, telecommunications, retail, and large-scale data centers.

Accountabilities

  • Design and implement optimized Linux integrations for IoT, embedded, desktop, and server-class hardware platforms.
  • Collaborate with hardware and technology partners to deliver reliable and polished Linux experiences.
  • Develop technical plans, testing strategies, quality metrics, and system-performance improvements.
  • Lead complex customer engagements involving cloud, edge, hardware, operating systems, and applications.
  • Support application integration, SDK adoption, device OS image creation, and application optimization.
  • Investigate performance, integration, compatibility, and platform issues across diverse configurations.
  • Collaborate with distributed teams and external partners on platform features and enhancements.
  • Contribute to open-source projects and maintain strong engineering and packaging practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong professional experience developing software for Linux-based environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Debian, RPM, or Yocto Linux packaging technologies.
  • Strong programming experience in C and C++.
  • Experience with open-source communities, development practices, and software licensing.
  • Strong Linux systems understanding across different layers of the software stack.
  • Experience working effectively in globally distributed teams with autonomy and self-discipline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, and HTTP/REST networking technologies.
  • Basic understanding of security best practices for IoT, embedded, or server environments.
  • Embedded-platform experience across boards, SoCs, BMCs, bootloaders, firmware, operating systems, applications, and services is highly valued.
  • Graphics stacks, Docker, OCI containers, Kubernetes, and public speaking experience are advantageous.

Working Environment

  • The position is fully remote, with flexibility to work from anywhere.
  • International travel may be required for in-person engineering sprints and company events.
