Overview

The Engineering Services group provides mechanical and electrical design for commercial, light industrial, institutional, and recreational buildings.

This is a regular full-time permanent position supporting a major Canadian airport project and based 100% at the client's site in Toronto.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical systems design and construction expertise across planning, design, and program delivery.
  • Review designs, submittals, testing, contractor proposals, and deliverables for technical and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct Facility Alteration Permit reviews and field inspections during construction.
  • Coordinate electrical engineering interfaces, governance, targets, schedules, and technical requirements.
  • Monitor construction-phase designer inputs, including RFIs, shop drawings, approvals, and punch lists.
  • Prepare management-level progress reports and briefings and mentor staff.

About You

  • Recognized degree in Electrical Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario.
  • At least seven years of industrial and commercial electrical systems design, construction, and commissioning experience on a major capital project or program.
  • Knowledge of project planning, cost estimation, scheduling, testing, commissioning, turnover, quality control, reporting, and requirements management.
  • Thorough knowledge of 27kV and 44kV distribution, power distribution, cogeneration, arc flash, system safety, operations, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of aviation stakeholder and regulatory requirements, including ICAO and Transport Canada Aerodrome Standards.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, project scheduling software, Maximo, ProjectWise, Oracle ERP, Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
  • Aviation experience is considered an asset.

Compensation

  • Expected annual compensation is between $90,000 and $120,000, with base salary determined by skills, experience, potential impact, and market considerations.
